Oh, joy. We get to start using the gigantic ‘free from the DPW’ trash bins this week. They make it clear these are provided gratis, but that we will pay for the next one if we need another.
The don’t make it clear ‘how’ they are ‘free.’ One explanation has been they are ‘paid for out of the savings’ that automated pickup is alleged to produce. The other is that there’s a company which incinerates our trash for profit, and they picked up the tab. Who do we believe? I think they got that advice from the folks who tell us we will make $425 million by selling the water company to ourselves.
And while we are pondering that question, let’s toss in a side note – we bought $3,300,000 worth of new, specially equipped trash trucks with a big claw-arm that can pick up and dump the new bins. They say we are saving money by spending 3 million. Somehow.
Hurrah for the new trash bins. So shall I put it out every week, or just once every 5 or 6 weeks – when I fill it up?

To the folks that want to (try to) post here in all-caps and make every-other word an obscenity (literally!), please don’t bother. Those are the sorts of comments that never see daylight and it only serves to get you blacklisted from the site (which you now have been).
Besides, we aren’t responsible for your difficulties with the new bins.
