Cop Holds Beer

You were really doing a great job with the news, often putting the other locals to shame. Today, you blew it. You ran a story that is little more than National Enquirer sensationalism.

You ran a story with an inflammatory picture without sorting out the real story behind it. You let someone wanting to show all cops are bad jerk your chain and you published a picture with no context.

What happened right before and right after that moment? Did the person not continue to watch the cop? Did they see him hand the can back to the owner and continue on? Did they see him take a drink? Why was there no photo of what happened?

You blew it. You let one of the handful of people that currently wants to vent about cops — and suggest they are all bad — use your quality newscast for their selfish purposes.
