At least the building generates some excitement. The $20 million retractable roof, or as the experts like to call it, ‘kinetic architecture’ was
opened today amid warnings for attendees to dress warmly.
last year WTHR noted:
Since Lucas Oil Stadium opened in 2008 the Colts have played 13 of 27 home games open air. If you do that math, that’s so far, roughly $1.7 million each time the roof is open for the Colts, and that doesn’t include $56,000 a year the Capital Improvement Board pays to maintain it.
So we have now had 14 ‘outdoor’ games played there. The cost-per-game is down to a modestly-slimmer $1.5 million.
Have they gotten all the malfunctioning exterior signs to work correctly yet?
